Mr. Werner joined
us as an associate in 1999 and became a partner
in 2001. He is a member of our Corporate Section, and his primary
areas of practice are mergers and acquisitions, securities and business
law.
Since joining the firm, John has been involved in such significant
transactions and other projects as Offshore Logistics, Inc.’s acquisition of Pueblo
Airmotive, Inc., Horizon Helicopters, and numerous other aircraft
acquisitions both domestic and international; The Conservation Fund’s
acquisition and donation to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife
and Fisheries of 63,000 acres in the river parishes creating the
Maurepas Management Area; the sale of Gulf Coast International
Inspections, Inc. to Oceaneering, Inc.; and numerous investments by Jefferson Capital Partners.
John graduated from Duke University in 1988, then earned
his J.D. from Tulane Law School in 1994. Following graduation he was law clerk to the Honorable Donald
E. Walter, Judge of the United States District Court for the Western
District of Louisiana.
