Lance C. McCardleLance C. McCardle

Mr. McCardle joined us in 2005 as an associate in our Litigation Section. His primary areas of practice include Katrina/Insurance disputes, media, securities, class actions, contracts, products liability and tort, and tax.

Since joining the firm, Lance has participated in a number of complex litigation matters.  He was part of the team that successfully moved for the dismissal of the securities class action and derivative cases against US Unwired, as well as the team that obtained a $22 million arbitration award against Securities America on behalf of several Exxon retirees.  Lance has represented a number of local individuals and businesses in connection with their insurance claims, and he has also handled employment contract disputes, First Amendment litigation, and collection cases.

Lance graduated cum laude from Louisiana State University in 1999 with a B.S. degree in finance. He practiced as a risk consultant for three years prior to attending law school and business school. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, and his M.B.A. from Loyola University in 2005. While at Loyola, he was Comment / Casenote Editor for the Loyola Law Review, Member of Loyola's Moot Court program, and Oralist / Brief Writer for Loyola's First Amendment Moot Court Competition team. He was a William L. Crowe, Sr. Scholar and is the author of "Despite Congress's GOOD Intentions, the DMCA Produces a BAD Result: A Means to Create Monopolies," Loyola Law Review, Winter 2004.

Outside of the firm, Lance has taught skills classes at Loyola University College of Law and has served as a panelist in the Tulane Law School Orientation Program on Professionalism.  He also represents criminal defendants on a pro bono basis and serves as a member of the St. Thomas More Inn of Court.
