Mr. Payne joined the firm in 2009 as an associate in our Litigation Section. He practices primarily in the area of commercial litigation, including securities law, class actions, and other complex disputes.
Matthew graduated from Georgetown University in 2001 with bachelor degrees in Government and English. He attended Georgetown University Law Center, graduating cum laude in 2005. At Georgetown Law Center, he was the managing editor of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal.
After law school, Matthew worked as an associate with White & Case LLP in New York, where his practice focused on internal corporate investigations, white collar defense, antitrust and securities litigation. He also performed pro bono service in various civil and criminal matters. From 2007-2009, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Stanwood R. Duval, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
