New Orleans Law Firm Is Relaunched With New Name & New Counsel
New Firm is Named Fishman Haygood Phelps Walmsley Willis & Swanson, L.L.P.

Correro Fishman Haygood Phelps Walmsley & Casteix, L.L.P., one of Louisiana’s top corporate, M&A and litigation law firms, has announced major developments at the firm, including a new name -- Fishman Haygood Phelps Walmsley Willis & Swanson, L.L.P. -- and the appointment of veteran New Orleans real estate lawyer and developer Henry “Skip” O’Connor, Jr. as counsel to the firm

According to Louis Fishman, a founding partner of the firm, “Scott Willis and Jim Swanson have made immense contributions to the firm over the years, and we wanted to have the name of the firm reflect the positive impact these gentlemen have made.  Scott and Jim are acknowledged by their peers to be pre-eminent in their areas of corporate law and litigation, respectively, and have helped to establish our firm as one of the best-in-class firms not only in the region, but in the United States.”

Mr. Swanson has been ranked one of the top Business Litigation attorneys in New Orleans in Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, Benchmark Litigation, New Orleans Magazine and others.   He is an adjunct professor at Loyola Law School teaching a section of Trial Advocacy, and an adjunct professor at Tulane University in Media law. 

Mr. Willis has been ranked as one of the top lawyers in Louisiana practicing in the areas of banking and finance by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, and is named in The Best Lawyers in America for expertise in Financial Institutions & Transaction Law.  He is the past chair and a member of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust  &  Estate Law Section Committee on Legal Opinions, is a member of the Working Group on Legal Opinions, and a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.  Mr. Willis is also Treasurer of the Bureau of Governmental Research.
